RIDE DETAILS:
This ride is being organised by the 'Helping New Motorcyclists' Facebook group. Please click on the link below if you'd like to join us. https://www.facebook.com/groups/277287890054696/

Lets go for lunch at the Pit Stop café at Mt Mee... the best views ever while you eat and relax.
The ride is limited to 40 people. Please let us know if you are intending to carry a pillion. Also, please give preference to new riders, learners and their supervisors.
The ride will be approximately 183 km's round trip. It's not a ride for brand new learners who are not yet riding confidently.
We meet at the new Shell garage at Brendale at 8.30 am (map below), with stands up at 9.00 am. You are allowed to invite one additional rider.
If you are a person who has to ride hard and fast then this ride is not for you. You'll need a high level of patience... we ride at a nice steady pace suitable for learners and novice riders.
For riders who have held their RE open licence for more than a year, it would help greatly if you are willing to accompany any learner riders in your area to the meet point and back home after the ride. Thanks to all that volunteer for this task.

If the weather is bad the ride will be postponed to another day...

1st stop, 20 mins at Wamuran for a leg stretch.

2nd stop, 10 min photo op at McCarthy's Lookout.

3rd stop, Pit Stop café, Mt Mee for lunch

The link below shows the route on google maps. It's important to look at the route on a computer or laptop. Mobile phones often corrupt the route line.

Please note that some roads can be a bit bumpy in places, and all of the mountains can be quite a workout with sharp corners, please ride safely and at your own pace, we will wait for you no matter what!
Corner markers will be required. Generally the corner marker will be the rider behind the leader...if you don't want to corner mark, please don't be in the first 4 or so riders...if you are a corner marker, please don't leave the corner until the TEC gets to you, no matter how long it takes. No-one gets left behind!

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY AT ALL TIMES...ride to suit your ability...ride in staggered formation when you're around other bikes when safe to do so. Keep up if you can but don't ride faster or harder than you're comfortable with... if you fall back, that's fine...you won't be left behind just stay on the road you're on and make logical decisions...someone or the whole group will wait for you at the next turning point or change of direction... ALWAYS ask the ride leader where they are planning to stop for the next break...at least you then have some idea of where you can head to if you do get separated..
.
