BB Glow/ or NANO Needling

What is BB Glow Treatment?

BB Glow treatment is an anti-aging and skin brightening procedure based on MTS Micro-needle Therapy System, which is based on the skin´s natural ability to repair itself when it suffers physical damage.  Immediately after an injury to the skin, the body begins a healing process, triggering new collagen synthesis.

How is BB Glow Done?

The procedure is safely done using a Micro-needling Pen with a single-use sterile needle head.  The device offers adjustable depth, speed, and needle size control.  A session usually takes 1 hours, in which serums and/or pigments will be applied to stimulate the rejuvenation process along with a facial hydrating mask at the end.

What to Expect after a BB Glow Treatment?

Skin will be red with a mild swelling and/or bruising, skin might feel tight and sensitive to the touch.  Although these symptoms may take 1 to 2 days to resolve completely, they will diminish significantly within a few hours after the treatment.

MicroNeedling - Dermapen (COLLAGEN INDUCTION)

PRE NUMBING IS REQUIRED

Please see your pharmacist for "numb it" apply to your whole face 30mins prior to your appointment cover with plastic wrap for best results. This will numb your skin to allow for the maximum depth with minimal discomfort.

INTRODUCTION TO MICRO-NEEDLING & THE DERMAPEN

The concept of micro-needling is based on the skin’s natural ability to repair itself when it suffers physical damage such as cuts, burns, abrasions or other injuries. Immediately after an injury to the skin, our body begins the healing process, triggering new collagen synthesis. The DERMAPEN is a micro-needling device that intentionally creates very superficial “micro-injuries” to the outermost layer of the skin to induce the healing process that includes new collagen production. Micro-needling has been shown to reduce the visibility of acne scars, fine lines, and wrinkles; diminish hyper-pigmentation; and improve skin tone and texture, resulting in smoother, firmer, younger looking skin.

ABOUT THE PROCEDURE Micro-needling is performed using DERMAPEN. The DERMAPEN micro-needling procedure is performed in a safe and precise manner with a single-use, sterile needle head. The treatment session usually takes about 30- 45 minutes, depending on the area(s) being treated. Throughout the procedure, activating agents will be applied to stimulate rejuvenation process. Then a hydrating facial mask will be applied for hydration with Hyaluronic acid. In most cases Blue LED Omnilux light will be applied to reduce the risk of infection in the open pores.

After the procedure, your skin will be red with mild swelling and/or bruising, and it might feel tight and sensitive to the touch. Although these symptoms may take 2-3 days to resolve completely, they will diminish significantly within a few hours after treatment.

RISKS OF MICRO-NEEDLING Although the majority of patients do not experience any complications with micro-needling, it is important you understand that risks do exist. The micro-needling procedure is minimally invasive and uses a set of microneedles to inflict multiple, tiny, punctures/lacerations to the outermost layer of the skin. Because microneedling penetrates the skin, it inherently carries health risks, including but not limited to those listed below. You should discuss any and all health concerns with your esthetician or attending healthcare provider PRIOR to signing this consent form.

INFECTION – Infection is very unusual. However, viral, bacterial, and fungal infections can occur any time the integrity of the skin is compromised. Should infection occur, you must contact or return to our office immediately, as additional treatment will likely be necessary.

PIGMENT/COLOR CHANGE (hyperpigmentation) – Because the dermal penetration associated with micro-needling is so superficial it doesn’t extend into the layer of the skin containing melanocytes, hyperpigmentation is very rare. However, failure to follow post-treatment instructions can put you at risk for hyperpigmentation.

You MUST avoid sun exposure for 1 to 2 weeks after a micro-needling treatment. You should also wear a daily SPF facial moisturizer, which your practitioner can recommend. Lastly, avoid picking and/or peeling the skin during healing period.

SCARRING – Although normal healing after the procedure is expected, abnormal scars may occur in both the skin and deeper tissues. In rare cases, thickened or keloid scars may result, especially if you are prone to keloid scarring anyway. Scars may be unattractive and of different color than surrounding skin. Additional treatments may be needed to treat scarring.

PAIN – There may be a very slight burning, scratchy, and irritated sensation to the skin. This is usually temporary and is gone within a few hours after treatment. A sudden reappearance of redness or pain is a sign of infection, and you should notify our office immediately.

PERSISTENT REDNESS, ITCHING, AND/OR SWELLING – Itching, redness, and swelling are normal parts of the healing process. These symptoms rarely persist longer than 24 hours. However, treatments received less than 4 weeks apart may induce prolonged symptoms.

ALLERGIC REACTION – Micro-needling is performed with a device whose head contains 12- 36 sterile, hypodermic needles, which makes an allergic reaction nearly impossible. However, in conjunction with the micro-needling procedure a variety of products may be used on the face; those products could cause an allergic reaction. Additionally, since micro-needling increases the penetration of topical substances, it could cause you to become hypersensitive to products used on the face. If an allergic reaction were to occur, you must contact our office immediately, as it may require further treatment.

LACK OF PERMANENT RESULT – Micro-needling will not completely or permanently improve skin texture, tone, elasticity, hyperpigmentation, or scars, or minimize fine lines and wrinkles. It is important that your expectations be realistic and you understand that the procedure has its limitations. Additional procedures may be necessary to achieve your desired effect.

UNSATISFACTORY RESULT – Although rare from micro-needling, there is a possibility of a poor result from any cosmetic procedure. Micro-needling may induce undesirable results, including but not limited to skin sloughing, scarring, permanent pigment change, and/or other undesirable skin changes. There is always a possibility that you may be disappointed with the final results of micro-needling.

CONTRAINDICATIONS TO MICRO-NEEDLING Although it is impossible to list every potential risk and complication, the following are recognized as known contraindications to micro-needling. Furthermore, it is your responsibility to fully and accurately disclose all medical history prior to initial treatment, as well as to provide any necessary updates at all future treatment sessions. MicroDermabrasion

Microdermabrasion Information:

What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion uses an adjustable applicator head that removes dead surface skin cells and initiates cellular turnover at the dermis and epidermis level in a safe controlled manner. This approach respects the integrity of the skin and promotes even healing. Maintaining even cellular growth on the surface aids in the youthfulness of the skin’s appearance. Microdermabrasion has been used to treat again and sun-damaged skin, some types of acne, and acne scarring, altered pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, and stretch marks. Results may include improved skin tone, fewer breakouts, diminished appearance of scars, even skin color, refined skin pores, renewed elasticity, and a healthy glow. What should you expect during your treatment? Prior to your first microdermabrasion, as your esthetician, I will perform a thorough skin analysis. If microdermabrasion is not appropriate, you are informed during the session and an alternative treatment may be recommended instead. If microdermabrasion is for you, maximum results are obtained by participating in a series of treatments in addition to following a home care regimen.

To further enhance your outcome, I require that you used products specifically directed towards obtaining correction. Your current daily regimen in your skin care products used will be reviewed, and you will be instructed which products you should continue to use, and will be advised on any recommended additions to your regimen. I recommend keeping regular appointment and carefully following your home care regimen to support your results. As your aesthetician, I take every precaution to ensure that your skin is well hydrated and calm prior to leaving each session. However, you may experience excessive dryness or even some peeling between sessions, which may or may not be normal. Always check with me if you have any concerns after the treatment. More sensitive skin may experience some redness after the first couple of sessions. This normally goes away after 2 to 3 hours.

After your treatment, sunblock must be worn at all times and tanning bed should never be used. You're making an investment in your face: therefore, it is to your benefit to continue to protect it long after your series is completed. Is satisfaction guaranteed? My clients receive a satisfactory to above average results with the series of treatments. Maximum results are highly dependent on your age, cumulative sun exposure, health, menopause, lifestyle, genetic traits, general skin condition, and your willingness to follow recommended protocols. Be aware that many changes may occur deeper within the skin overtime. I find that when participating in a series of treatments, along with a commitment to your daily skin care regimen, noticeable differences may indeed be the outcome.

You may see a reduction of fine lines and softening of deeper wrinkles, reduction of discoloration, softening and possible reduction in scars, and an overall improvement to the skin’s tone and appearance. To continue the maintenance of your skin after you complete your treatment(s), I may inform you of long-term age management programs.

Professional Peels

Chemical Peel Consent Form  The Chemical Peel procedure has been thoroughly explained. I realize that no promises or guarantees have  been made. I understand that the treatment may be repeated several times to achieve complete satisfaction. I understand that this treatment is voluntary on my part. My signature below indicates that I have agreed to  receive the Chemical Peel treatment(s). A chemical solution is used to peel away the skin’s damaged outer layers.

The new cells and collagen are  stimulated during the healing process to produce a smoother, tighter, younger looking skin surface.  A peel does not eliminate sagging or excess skin. Each treatment is customized for patient skin type, specific problem areas and the delicate areas of the face.

The depth of the peel is dependent on the concentration and type of acid, the  duration of the contact, and a person’s skin type and sensitivity. I have been told the following:  1. No anaesthesia is needed for peels. 2. The peeling agent is applied evenly to the skin surface. 3. The agent is rapidly neutralized after several minutes with another solution. 4. I may experience some stinging, redness, irritation, and crusting. 5. It is common to experience some temporary flaking or scaling, redness and dryness of the skin. 6. I may immediately return to normal activities. 7. I have been instructed what to use to keep the skin clean and moist. 8. I have been instructed to begin or continue a regular program of sunscreens and sun protection. I acknowledge that I am obligated to follow The Dermatology Centre of Newton & Rockdale instructions closely and visit the office as directed.  I have been given ample opportunity for discussion and my questions have been answered to my satisfaction. I understand this treatment includes payment and the fee structure has been explained.  I have received no medication before signing this consent form. I have not been on the prescription Acutane in the past 12 months.   I am not prone to Herpes (cold sore) out breaks.
